Insole FAQs

How long can I expect my insoles to last?

The expected life of our insoles is dependent on the wearer’s
weight, the frequency of use and exposure to moisture amongst other factors. Some
can expect to get just a few months of use while others will get up to a year. On
average expect to get around 6 months of use but again, this can vary greatly
user to user.

What footwear are these insoles suitable for?

Our insoles are suitable for any type of footwear that accepts an insole. Some popular uses include trail running, road running, hiking, mall walking, restaurant and construction work and even in snowboard and ski boots. Note that our insoles feature a traditional shape. If you need them for wide toe box shoes, compare the forefoot width of your existing insole with the forefoot measurements on our sizing chart; length can be ignored. You may trim the insoles to fit as needed.

How thick are the original Run 619 insoles in inches?

Our 3mm insoles are 1/8″ thick and our 6mm insoles are 1/4″ thick. Note that 3mm is much thinner than insoles that come in most footwear and 6mm is roughly 20% thicker.

Do these insoles go under existing insoles?

Our insoles can be used as a direct replacement to your existing insoles. Space permitting they can also be used under or on top of your existing insoles or custom orthotics.

I have plantar fasciitis, low arches, high arches, achilles tendinitis etc. will these insoles help me?

We make zero claims to any use outside of adding a neutral layer of dense foam in a shoe or boot, so the short answer is probably not.

Can Run 619 insoles be used as filler for a shoe or boot that is too large?

Absolutely. If you have a pair of shoes or boots that are slightly too large you can utilize either our 3mm or 6mm insoles stand alone or in combination with your existing insoles. Conversely you can also use our insoles, especially the 3mm, to reduce the space in a tightly fitting shoe or boot.

How do I care for my Run 619 insoles?

With our Run 619 insoles we’ve been known to spray them with a garden hose and send them through the washing machine. While those methods work know that you’re shortening the life of your insoles. Best practice is to hand wash your insoles in warm water with mild soap, then air dry.

What is zero drop?

Zero drop means that the shoe does not have an elevated heel, allowing the foot to rest in its natural position. In other words, from heel to toe, the insole maintains a uniform height. Unlike traditional shoes and insoles where the heel is raised, our 3mm and 6mm insoles maintain the same 3mm or 6mm thickness throughout. It's important not to confuse zero drop with a wide toe box. While shoes with a wide toe box are beneficial, not all shoes designed to match the shape of the foot are zero drop.
