Insole FAQs
How long can I expect my insoles to last?
For Flat Insoles (3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm):
Durability depends on factors like your body weight, how often you wear them, and how much moisture they're exposed to. Some people get just a few months of use, while others get up to a year. On average, most users can expect around 6 months, but it really varies person to person.
For MFM Performance Insoles:
Built to last 500+ miles. The high-density EVA base and TPU support frame maintain structure through ultra-distance events and serious training miles. Most foam insoles collapse within 50-100 miles. Our Performance insoles have been tested to 800+ miles by ultra runners, with most users reporting 500-600 miles before replacement. For a runner logging 30 miles/week, that's approximately 4-5 months of continuous use.
What footwear are these insoles suitable for?
For Flat Insoles (3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm): Designed to fit any type of footwear that accepts a removable insole. Customers use them for everything from trail running and road running to hiking, long shifts in restaurants or construction, and even in snowboard and ski boots.
For MFM Performance Insoles: Designed to fit most athletic shoes with moderate interior volume and removable insoles. Work great in trail runners, road shoes, hiking boots, and everyday footwear. Not compatible with narrow racing flats, tight-fitting shoes, or shoes without removable insoles.
Are these insoles soft and cushioned?
For Original Flat Insoles (3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm): No. These are firm, minimal insoles designed for a neutral feel without added cushioning. Available in three thicknesses to match your preference—3mm for minimal interference, 4.5mm for balanced support, or 6mm for more underfoot presence. They're built to replace worn-out insoles or pair with orthotics, not to add plush cushioning.
For MFM Performance Insoles: No. These are designed with a firm, responsive platform—not plush foam. The high-density EVA base provides structure and support that lasts through 500+ miles, which means they feel firmer underfoot than drugstore cushion insoles. This firmness is intentional—it's what prevents collapse and maintains proper support over long distances. If you're looking for maximum cushioning or a pillow-soft feel, these are not the right fit.
Will these fit in my wide toe box shoes (Altra, Topo, etc.)?
For Original Flat Insoles (3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm): These are traditionally shaped insoles, so to truly match the contour of a wide toe box shoe, we recommend sizing up and trimming down using your existing insole as a template. The minimal thickness and flexible design make them easy to trim and work great with wide toe box shoes. Available in both regular and wide widths for even better compatibility.
For MFM Performance Insoles: Yes! These feature a traditional shape that's been designed to play nice with wide toe box shoes like Altra, Topo, Hoka, and similar brands. Available in 11 sizes with trim-to-fit guides for precision. They work great in both standard footwear and wide toe box designs with moderate interior volume. Some trimming may be necessary.
Do these insoles go under existing insoles?
It depends on the model and your footwear.
• Our Original Flat Insoles can be used as a direct replacement or layered with other insoles or orthotics—space permitting. While they can be placed on top, they generally work best underneath or as a standalone insert.
• Our Performance Insoles are designed to be worn on their own and work best as a full replacement due to their structured design, arch support, and heel cup.
Do I need to trim the insoles?
Maybe. All our insoles are designed to match standard U.S. shoe sizing, but slight trimming may be needed depending on the shoe brand or insole shape. If needed, just trace your existing insole and trim with scissors. Start small — you can always trim more if needed.
I have plantar fasciitis, low arches, high arches, Achilles tendinitis, etc. — will these insoles help?
We don't make any medical claims, but we offer two types of insoles to meet different needs:
- Our Original Flat Insoles are completely flat with no arch, no drop, and no contour—great for those who want a minimal, neutral feel.
- Our MFM Performance Insoles feature medium arch support, a deep heel cup, and a structured, responsive design for stability and long-distance durability.
If you're dealing with a specific condition, we recommend checking with a medical professional to determine the best approach for your needs.
Can Run 619 insoles be used as filler for a shoe or boot that is too large?
Absolutely. If your footwear is slightly too large, you can use our 3mm, 4.5mm, or 6mm Original Flat Insoles—either on their own or in combination with your existing insoles—to reduce excess space. Conversely, the 3mm or 4.5mm thickness can also help fine-tune the fit in snug or tightly fitting shoes and boots. Just be sure there's enough room to maintain comfort.
How do I care for my Run 619 insoles?
The best way to clean your insoles is by hand: use warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely before using again.
What is zero drop?
Zero drop means that the shoe does not have an elevated heel, allowing the foot to rest in its natural position. In other words, from heel to toe, the insole maintains a uniform height. Unlike traditional shoes and insoles where the heel is raised, all Run 619 insoles—including our Original Flat line and MFM Performance line—are zero drop. It's important not to confuse zero drop with a wide toe box. While shoes with a wide toe box are beneficial, not all shoes designed to match the shape of the foot are zero drop.
Can I use Run 619 Flat Insoles to help with a leg length discrepancy?
Yes. Our Original Flat Insoles are a great option for addressing mild leg length discrepancies. Because they come in multiple thicknesses—3mm, 4.5mm, and 6mm—they can be used as subtle lifts in one shoe or layered as needed. While not a medical device, they offer a simple and effective solution for evening things out without compromising the feel of your footwear.
Do you sell in stores?

We also list some items on Amazon.com and Walmart.com, and offer factory seconds on eBay. If you see our products being sold elsewhere, it’s likely unauthorized and not something we support.
